The debut footage reveals Matt Damon in the role of Odysseus. We also see Tom Holland as Telemachus alongside Anne Hathaway depicting the loyal wife. During an emotional scene, the character pleads with Odysseus to promise his safe homecoming, only for him to look up and question what happens if he cannot. Based upon a cornerstone of Western literature, The Odyssey chronicles the epic journey undertaken by the famed ruler. Following his victory in the Trojan War, which is depicted in Homer's Iliad, Odysseus endures an extended and hazardous road home.

On his travels, the hero encounters numerous obstacles and legendary creatures. These include the witch-goddess Circe, who transforms men into swine, and the deceptive Sirens. Despite these trials, his sworn oath is to overcome anything to get back to his wife and son on his home island.
The adaptation's cast boasts an impressive lineup. Alongside the leading trio are Charlize Theron portraying the shrewd goddess, alongside Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Elliot Page, and Jon Bernthal.
