The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions β And She Has Positive Updates
The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions β but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [β¦] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season β especially in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
